Since 2012, Lucy has been designing for various well-known British brands while also creating bespoke handbags for clients.
We had the privilege of filming Lucy earlier this spring at her Cockpit Studio in Deptford. Each bag is meticulously crafted by hand using grade-A vegetable-tanned leather and organic linens. Observing Lucy's creative process was truly inspiring—she starts by conceptualising the general shape, often drawing from soft and rounded sculptural forms. She then treats the leather with oils and waxes to give it a distinctive texture before meticulously hand-stitching and shaping each piece.
Sustainability is at the heart of Lucy's work at FARLY. Her designs incorporate recycled materials, giving new life to unused bags and materials. One standout piece from her collection is the ‘SOL bag’, made from Nat Leather with Ecru Contrast Stitch. This distinctive bag features a sun ray cut-out pattern on both sides, allowing light to play beautifully through its form. It's designed with an adjustable handle for added versatility and is available in both medium and small sizes.
Another highlight from her collection is the ‘Margot Bag’, available in ‘Black’, ‘Choc’ and ‘Multi Colour’. It features a spacious interior that can hold everything you need for the day, while the drawstring closure and fabric slip pocket ensure all your possessions stay secure. We also adore the slim drawstring bucket bag, 'Luna'. Perfectly sized for days when you only need the essentials, this crossbody bag combines minimalist design with contemporary style, making it a timeless accessory. The sleek silhouette and practical features make 'Luna' an ideal choice for both casual outings and sophisticated events.
We hope you enjoy the video and love the collection!
