A Fante Asafo flag is a vibrant and symbolic textile from the Fante people of Ghana, traditionally used by Asafo warrior companies. Made from brightly coloured cloth, the flag features bold appliqué designs depicting animals, figures, and scenes that convey proverbs, historical events, or moral messages. Each image is rich with meaning, often reflecting strength, unity, rivalry, or social values within the community. Both dynamic and expressive, a Fante Asafo flag stands as a powerful emblem of identity, heritage, and storytelling.

Leonora grew up in South Africa, near the Kruger National Park, where her love for nature and craftsmanship first took root. She spent much of her time in Johannesburg, which she describes as “a pot of different cultures” from across Africa.
With a lifelong passion for art and design, Leonora draws inspiration from the natural world and from reviving traditional practices that are gradually diminishing.
